An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Acute Team to join a supportive and dynamic Acute service in Burton-on-Trent. This ongoing locum position offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £26.00 and full-time hours.

This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist looking to further develop their skills within a fast-paced acute hospital environment, working alongside a strong multidisciplinary team.

What You Will Do

  • Provide comprehensive assessments, clinical reasoning, and treatment for patients with a wide range of conditions and diagnoses.

  • Plan and facilitate safe and timely discharges, ensuring smooth transitions from hospital to home or other care settings.

  • Work collaboratively within the Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and wider multidisciplinary teams.

  • Manage and prioritise a busy caseload, creating tailored rehabilitation plans to maximise patient independence.

  • Complete home visits and community assessments when required to support discharge planning.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.

  • HCPC registration.

  • Previous experience working in an acute hospital or similar setting.

  • Strong assessment, discharge planning, and clinical reasoning skills.

  • Access to your own vehicle and ability to travel for community visits.

Desirable

  • Experience working within acute medicine or frailty pathways.

  • Experience working in multidisciplinary discharge teams.
