An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Acute Team to join a supportive and dynamic Acute service in Burton-on-Trent. This ongoing locum position offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £26.00 and full-time hours.
This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist looking to further develop their skills within a fast-paced acute hospital environment, working alongside a strong multidisciplinary team.

What You Will Do

Provide comprehensive assessments, clinical reasoning, and treatment for patients with a wide range of conditions and diagnoses.

Plan and facilitate safe and timely discharges, ensuring smooth transitions from hospital to home or other care settings.

Work collaboratively within the Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and wider multidisciplinary teams.

Manage and prioritise a busy caseload, creating tailored rehabilitation plans to maximise patient independence.

Complete home visits and community assessments when required to support discharge planning.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
-
Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.

HCPC registration.

Previous experience working in an acute hospital or similar setting.

Strong assessment, discharge planning, and clinical reasoning skills.

Access to your own vehicle and ability to travel for community visits.
Desirable
-
Experience working within acute medicine or frailty pathways.

Experience working in multidisciplinary discharge teams.
