Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Mental Health Occupational Therapist to work in Devizes, Wiltshire on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC.
The pay rate for this locum Occupational Therapist job is £28 to £30 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 6 -month contract.
Duties:
- The post holder will work autonomously to undertake emergency assessment, planning and delivering defined, intensive, specialist interventions in line with the CPA framework to people with severe and enduring mental health needs, who maybe distressed and in crisis.
- Where appropriate the postholder will work alongside other services to plan, deliver and review effective "wrap around" intensive interventions to manage risk and prevent hospital admission for those with the most complex needs.
- The postholder will act as Care/Recovery coordinator or associate Care/Recovery coordinator as required
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
- Recent NHS experience either pre or post qualification
- Diploma level/Degree in relevant health/social care profession, eg RMN, OT, Social Worker
- Current relevant registration with the NMC or HCPC and commitment to CPD.
- Demonstrates substantial post-registration experience gained working in a range of frontline adult mental health services, undertaking assessment and delivering interventions
- Able to deliver from a range of possible key therapeutic interventions CBT, Psychosocial interventions, Family Interventions, DBT approaches.
- Demonstrates a developed understanding of the recovery principles, and the role of secondary mental health services in the delivery of care
