Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner to work full-time in Huddersfield. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of mental health nursing and be registered with the NMC.

The pay rate for this locum CAMHS practitioner job is £23-£24 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and this role offers an initial 3-month contract.

About the team/role:

The child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) team offer assessment and interventions to children and young people who present persistent and significant difficulties with the following:

  • Depression where severe or not responded to earlier intervention
  • Self-harm and suicide attempt
  • Severe anxiety (including obsessive compulsive disorder)
  • Eating disorders with significant risk or impairment (such as anorexia nervosa or bulimia)
  • Psychosis (in those aged under 14)
  • Somatoform disorders
  • ADHD that has reached the appropriate stage on the pathway
  • Prolonged adjustment difficulties eg abnormal grief reactions
  • Persistent post-traumatic reactions (PTSD)
  • A range of neuropsychiatric conditions including Tourettes syndrome
  • Autistic spectrum conditions (at appropriate times)

Requirements of the CAMHS Practitioner:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
  • Current NMC or HCPC registration
  • Significant NHS experience as a CAMHS practitioner
