Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to fill a full-time role within Biochemistry in Aylesbury. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Biomedical Scientist practices and be registered with the HCPC.
The pay rate for this locum job is negotiable and is a 3-month contract.
About the role:
- As a Specialist BMS the post holder is responsible for processing laboratory tests on patient samples in 1 of 4 sub-sections of the laboratory in rotation.
- Work as a valued member of a team able to function with minimum supervision deputising for senior staff as appropriate
- Support and participate in the Quality Management system
- Take responsibility for designated areas according to their specialist knowledge and requirements of the Department
Requirements of the Biomedical Scientist:
- Must be registered on HCPC
- Must have a relevant qualification in biomedical science (BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science or alternative qualification)
- At least 2 years supervised experience post registration with a relevant Specialist Portfolio {Biochemistry, Haematology (and Transfusion) or Immunology}
- Must be able to apply the latest scientific knowledge coupled with the most up to date scientific methods
- Must be able to accurately and safely use and carry out routine maintenance and performance checks on complex and expensive analysers
