Sanctuary Health has a permanent vacancy for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Area Manager (Substance Misuse Service) to work in various locations across London (Brixton and Haringey).

The salary for this permanent Area Manager role is £30,401 to £37,267 per annum.

Job Purpose:

The Area Manager has overall responsibility for several service contracts and areas of strategic priority. Responsibilities and accountability include and is not limited to:

  • Risk management

  • Performance

  • Quality

  • Relationship management

  • Operational management

  • Reporting

  • Governance

Area Managers provide the strategic interface between Blenheim and the commissioning and funding bodies, partners and other key stakeholders. Area Managers work closely with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to plan, develop and deliver organisational priorities and provide a key leadership function across Blenheim, part of Humankind.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Represent Blenheim in a professional manner at all times with all internal and external stakeholders, including service users, staff teams, commissioners and other service providers.

  • To provide a visible and accessible senior leadership role in the organisation.

  • Attend external meetings that are relevant to the continued development of services and areas of responsibility in collaboration with the Director of Services.

  • Ensure that services and the organisation is profiled within the relevant sectors.

  • Attend internal meetings as appropriate to role.

  • Lead organisational working groups and learning forums, when required.

  • Pro-actively work with the SMT to inform and hold the strategic development and direction of Blenheim.

  • To hold monthly meetings with all direct report managers which provide organisational updates, review safeguarding cases, share best practice and problem solve.

  • To bring new developments in the field to the attention of managers in Blenheim.

  • To ensure that all services are delivered in line with corporate policies, procedures and practices are in line with QuADS, CQC and other quality and compliance standards.

  • To support the acquisition of new contracts.

Requirements of the Area Manager:

  • Recent experience within a similar role

  • Level 5 in Management / Leadership

  • Level 3 in Substance Misuse or equivalent related qualification

  • Proven history of work and management within the health & social care sector

  • At least three years' experience of staff management and supervision.
