Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 5 Assistant Clinical Psychologist to work within a Learning Disability Team based in London.

The pay rate for this locum Clinical Psychologist job is paying £20 per hour (Assignment rate). and is a 6-month contract.

Job Summary:

  • The Wandsworth Learning Disability Team (WLDT) is a multidisciplinary service, which provides community based health care for adults with a learning disability.
  • This post is based within Wandsworth Mental Health Learning Disability Team (WMHLDT). The team provides high quality services to people with complex mental health needs, learning disabilities and behaviours that may be perceived as challenging.
  • The service is community focused and operates the Care Programme Approach.
  • The team supports people at home or in day or inpatient settings.

Dutites:

  • To manage a work load of a specified individual with a learning disability, under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist.
  • To actively contribute and participate in undertaking comprehensive functional assessments of individuals who have been accepted as referrals to the Team. This assessment will consist of a range of approaches such as; direct observation, baseline data collection, interviews, historical review, staff recorded information, analogue assessment, and assessment of an individual's skills, quality of life and environment.
  • To actively contribute and participate in evaluating the work of the psychology service, using specified outcome measures and client and carer satisfaction measures.
  • To assist Clinical Psychologists in the analysis of any collected information, using a functional analytical approach
  • To enter collected data on a psychology database, as well as on RIO, as required.

Requirements of the Clinical Psychologist:

  • As a Registered Practitioner Clinical Psychologist, it is expected that the Professional Standards as defined by the HCPC and BPsS are adhered to when carrying out your role.
  • Similar experience working as a Clinical Psychologist
  • Experience of supporting people with Learning Disabilities
  • Experience of working with people whose behaviour challenges
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of liaison with families / carers
