Sanctuary Social Care currently has a locum vacancy based in Sutton for a Assistant Team Manager, within the Hospital Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work Practice in Adults' Services and be registered with Social Work England.

As the post holder of this role, you will receive a competitive rate of £30 - £33 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and this role is a 3-month contract.

Duties of the Assistant Team Manager:

  • To contribute and assist the team manager in leading, motivating, nurturing and managing their team ensuring the service provided is effective and delivering positive outcomes.
  • Assist and contribute to manage performance, quality assurance, resources and budgets in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • To contribute and support the development of practice, procedures and policies specifically the professional development of the team they lead/manage.
  • Accountable for the professional practice of their team members and other professionals and assist in providing effective supervision, mentoring and coaching to enhance the quality of practice, undertake performance appraisals and investigate complaints.
  • Assist in ensuring, through the maintenance of effective management, duty response systems and processes, that all incoming work is prioritised and allocated to appropriate staff in accordance with the council's policies and procedures.
  • Ensure good quality customer service is consistently provided within and across the service to improve service delivery within the council's established policies, procedures and customer charter.
  • Contribute to the relevant strategies, service development plans and delivery plans with other service managers and directors within the directorate.
  • Contribute in promoting and engaging with statutory and non-statutory organisations in an integrated and collaborative manner to achieve set priorities and outcomes

Requirements of the Assistant Team Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Adults' Services
  • Must be knowledgeable about management within the public sector, within the Council, Social Care, Housing, Education, Health and non-statutory sectors and of the relevant multidisciplinary professional groups, social work, occupational therapists and nursing.
