Sanctuary Personnel have an exciting Locum opportunity available for an experienced Social Work Team Manager to join a well-established Children’s service based in Barnet.

Team/Specialism: Duty And Assessment

Pay Rate: £40 per hour (assignment rate)

Contract: Locum, 3-Months

Hours: Full-time

Requirements of the Team Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Recent managerial experience, working as a TM, DTM or ATM etc.
  • Significant frontline experience in Children’s Services

Main Duties:

  • To ensure that services are delivered in partnership with all key stakeholders so that children’s assessed needs are met on a planned, holistic basis within a family setting whenever this is consistent with their best interests.
  • Deal with complex issues creatively and effectively in order to develop a responsive and effective service for users, delivered within designated budgets.
  • To provide professional supervision to members of the team.
  • Develop specialist knowledge in the field for which the post carries management responsibility, acting as a resource to both peers and more senior colleagues
  • To support the Team Manager in, assessing, allocating, reviewing and closing cases. To keep abreast of developments in all the cases covered by the team.
  • Assess the level of risk and/or service to be offered to users, ensuring that the highest priority work is allocated and that the safety and wellbeing of the child is secured. This includes making decisions about the immediate safety of children at risk of significant harm.
