Sanctuary Social Care has a permanent vacancy for an experienced and dedicated Assistant Team Manager to work full-time within an Adult's Service based in Esher, Surrey. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work practice in Adult Services and be registered with Social Work England.

The salary for this permanent Assistant Team Manager job is £45,000 - £52,000 per annum.

Main duties:

  • As part of the management team you will be expected to do safeguarding and 'front door' duty.
  • A key part of this role is developing the skills of all staff in completing CHC assessments and following through to DSTs and disputes as necessary.
  • Be an excellent communicator and demonstrate the skills and ability to manage and support the day to day running of a busy, dynamic team effectively prioritising daily challenges and expectations.
  • Be confident in making sound decisions that respond flexibly and quickly to changing needs and emergencies that arise in the community.
  • Develop effective partnership relationships with individuals, carers and families and positive relationships with health staff.
  • Support the manager to deliver high quality personalised adult social care, supervision of both qualified and unqualified staff and addressing Safeguarding concerns, ensuring that they are followed through as appropriate.
  • Required to line manage social workers and unqualified staff members within the team, particularly those working in "the front door".
  • Apply an extensive knowledge of social work practice, theory and legislation to enhance practice, procedures and policies, promote innovation, and introduce new ways of working from recognised sites of excellence.
  • Expected to carry a small caseload (of up to 9 cases) which are complex and varied.

Requirements of the Assistant Team Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in Social Work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Post qualification experience working in a similar role
  • Full UK driving licence is essential as well as access to a motor vehicle.
