Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Assessment and Panel Coordinator to work full-time in Berkeley, Gloucestershire. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.

The salary for this permanent Assessment and Panel Coordinator job is £36,000 - £38,000 per annum.

Duties of the Assessment and Panel Coordinator:

  • To work in partnership with the Quality Assurance Manager, Panel members, Form F Assessors and other staff in ensuring the smooth running of the organization and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • To provide robust quality assurance for all recruitment and Panel activities.
  • To manage the relationship and maintain effective communication between the agency and the Panel members and feedback to agency and all involved in panel work.
  • To oversee the Recruitment, Training and HR compliance of Independent Panel members and Form F Assessors including process and verification of DBS checks, qualifications and other areas to meet safer recruitment and accountability.
  • To have oversight of training provision to Prospective Applicants, Panel members and Panel Administrator.
  • To uphold the Capstone values within all work undertaken by the agency.
  • To have an authority to advise the Panel and to be responsible for liaison between Panel and the fostering service.
  • To assist in overall functioning of the fostering Panel.
  • To check the paperwork submitted to Panel, maintain the quality of the agency's reports and consider if it is adequate for submission to Panel. Feedback concerns regarding reports to the Practice or Registered Manager.

Requirements of the Assessment and Panel Coordinator:

  • Knowledge of the National Minimum Standards for Fostering Services, Fostering Services Regulations 2011 and statutory guidance.
  • Awareness of the government White Paper 'Care Matters' and subsequent bills, practice guides and good practice.
  • Knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and Children Act 2004.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good IT skills and ability to work remotely.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills, the ability to be motivating and to be able to work with elevated levels of self-responsibility and monitoring. Ability to access other registered managers and senior staff for guidance and feedback.
  • Excellent listening skills
  • The ability to relate knowledge of the legislative framework to good practice and to monitor and evaluate this in-service delivery.
