Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company to the private and public sector has a locum vacancy for an Adults Social Work Assistant Team Manager to work based in Greenwich.

As the post holder of this role, you will receive a competitive rate which is to be confirmed and this role is a 1-month contract.

Duties:

  • Be accountable to the Team Manager for the supervision of a designated staff team working within the service
  • Be accountable for performance management of staff and the quality of work undertaken within the team
  • Ensure that the service meets information, advice, screening and assessment needs of vulnerable adults, adults with disabilities (and children with disabilities where appropriate to the service area), and carers, through quality standard setting
  • Ensure that the care management/OT process is integral to the routine activity of the service area and the work with partner agencies
  • Ensure that all work complies with departmental policies, procedures and that statutory obligations are met
  • Contribute to the development of plans relating to the modernisation of social care/OT services through a model of continuous service improvement
  • Contribute to the development and setting of standards and priorities, promoting quality management standards and the effective implementation and monitoring of standards, policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance and updating of management information systems in accordance with Directorate policies, procedures and statutory procedures
  • Provide formal supervision to designated members of the team on a regular basis, ensuring developmental needs are met
  • Promote effective performance management and reporting back to the Team Manager issues that need to be progressed with respect to staff performance, sickness absence and staff conduct
  • Take delegated responsibility for the setting of individual standards, priorities and targets and for the allocation of work within the service
  • Ensure that management and performance information is routinely collected and that all staff assume responsibility for compliance with recording and reporting systems and processes supporting management information requirements
  • Ensure that work undertaken actively promotes the Council’s equal opportunities policy in relation to service delivery and personnel practice
  • Ensure the provision, maintenance and updating of detailed and relevant information describing services available from the council and other organisations to members of the public in a variety of formats and appropriate for people with a range of different needs
  • Ensure the effective planning, arrangement and coordination of services in response to assessed need against clear eligibility criteria and that assessments of need relating to the provision of services are carried out in a flexible way and in conjunction with other agencies as appropriate
  • Represent the department and maintain close working arrangements with other sections, departments and agencies towards the development of effective joint working practices and provision of services
  • Ensure that complaints are responded to within the Departmental Complaints Procedures and that users and carers are advocated for as appropriate

Requirements of the Assistant Team Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Adults’ Services
