Following the success of our most recent apprenticeship open evening, we will once again open our doors to young people interested in learning more about the benefits of the National Apprenticeship Scheme.
We are inviting all young people aged 16-24 to visit our offices on Tuesday 1 November between 5.30-7.30pm, to discuss the wide range of jobs that are currently available at the company through the apprenticeship programme.
During our August open evening, members of the Sanctuary team were on hand to answer any questions about the benefits of combining practical work experience with theoretical training, and also discussed career progression opportunities beyond the completion of the year-long apprenticeship.
Since then, several young people have begun working with us. We are currently in the midst of an ambitious period of growth with the aim of doubling in size within the next three years and eventually becoming one of the largest employers in Ipswich. We are keen to continue raising awareness of how we are helping local people begin a successful career without the need to relocate or commute.
Speaking ahead of the upcoming open evening, Managing Director, James Rook said:
“Over the last few years, there has been a significant shift in the way apprenticeships are viewed. There are so many options available for young people these days, that apprenticeships are a credible way to begin a fantastic career without worrying about incurring large student debts. I’m incredibly proud of our apprenticeship academy which has started the careers of many members of our senior team, and we are working hard to continue to develop our apprenticeship offerings.
“Our last event proved to be a tremendous success and we would encourage young people to come along with their parents and learn more about how they can begin their careers with us whilst still achieving a nationally recognised qualification.”
One new starter who learnt more about Sanctuary at a recent apprenticeship event is Jack Smith, who recently began working in our busy marketing department. Jack, who previously attended the Royal Hospital School in Holbrook is now combining a full-time role with study as he works towards an NVQ Level 3 in Marketing.
He said: “I was really keen to do an apprenticeship rather than attending university as I knew I would rather get stuck in straight away than spend hours sat in a lecture theatre. After meeting the team at Sanctuary, I was surprised to see how many people were of a similar age and mindset. It made me want to work for the company and it was great to know there was a position available in the marketing department, which is something I had been really keen on having completed a Business Studies A Level at school.
I’m really looking forward to getting started on my apprenticeship and to see what the future can bring!”
For those looking to attend our apprenticeship open evening on Tuesday 1 November (5.30pm-7.30pm), our offices can be found on 19 Franciscan Way in the town centre, opposite the black Willis Building. Those who fill out an application form on the night will be entered into a prize draw to win a day out in London for two!
