New Year's Honours presented to Health professionals

Tagged In:  Government News
The 2015 New Year's Honours List has recognised the impact of numerous professionals working across the UK health sector.

Leading the way for healthcare professionals this year are Dr Anthony Everington, Chair of the NHS Tower Hamlets Clinical Commissioning Group and Andrew Morris, CEO of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust who have both been knighted in recognition of their services to primary care and the NHS. They are joined on the honours list by Anna Van der Gaag, chair of the Health and Care Professions Council (who was awarded a CBE) and Dr Jacqui Johnstone, Chief Health Professions Officer, Scottish Government who has also received a CBE.

However, many frontline staff were also recognised for their impact upon the health profession with MBEs awarded to Winston McDowell a bank staff nurse at Broadmoor Hospital and Deborah Bone, a mental health nurse at the Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust.
