Duties of the Social Services Occupational Therapist:
- Promoting the Independent Living Service, including supporting staff development and training.
- Maintain knowledge of evidence-based research and new developments in Therapy Services, disseminate and apply this in North Lincolnshire.
- Provide a strong professional lead role, and at times provide direct coaching and mentoring, to team managers, back care advisor and others, in order to support the achievement of strategic, operational and personal development objectives.
- Monitor and develop competencies of low-level prescribers
- Support the budget management and identifying any risks associated with the service, including monitoring and reporting in line with Council procedures.
- Work within the Disabled Facilities Grant process with external partners
- Provide professional advice and support relating to moving and handling issues.
Requirements of the Social Services Occupational Therapist:
- Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
- Recent experience working as an Occupational Therapist
- Recent experience within social services / local authority / council
- Registered with the HCPC
